Twitter Tea Party

Photobucket

Yesterday I popped by Twitter for the first Twitter Tea Party hosted by the lovely Miss Kait, it was a great success and lots of fun, there were some great giveaways and lots of lovely chit-chat as well as copious amounts of tea drinking (or coffee in my case, sorry!) I settled down with a nice piece of apple crumble and some delicious toffee shortbread and joined in the fun.

I would like to say that I dressed up in a pretty dress fit for a vintage tea party but sadly I didn't, since I had just got back from work it was all about the comfy clothes, hopefully there will be another Twitter party soon and I will certainly dress up next time :) Check out Kait and Caren's posts about the tea party for some lovely pictures and great recipes.

Last week I picked up some beautiful Liberty fabric from Garstang market, I got two different patterns and I'm already planning my next sewing projects with them :) I'm thinking of a lovely fifties style dress with the green feather pattern and a little top and a skirt with the pink pattern. I'm excited to get on with some more sewing but I'm a little short on time at the minute and I already have a pile of sewing projects ahead of this one.

My Gran also gave me some other fabrics so I've been looking for some good patterns and thinking about what I can make with them. So many ideas, so little time! I'm hoping to go back to Garstang market in a couple of weeks since there were so many great winter fabrics on the stall I can imagine some lovely winter skirts and jackets.

I ordered this Dear Creatures dress from Shop Kempt a few weeks ago and it finally arrived last week. I was concerned about the size since it was coming all the way from America it would be difficult to return but it fit like a dream. It is the perfect vintage style dress, the pattern is amazing, the shape and length are perfect and it has a peter pan collar with a little scallop edge, what's not to love?

  8. What the devil is a Twitter tea party!? It sounds like fun!!

Love the new fabrics you bought, they'd make a lovely fabric headband too!

And I feel the same with international online shopping, which is probably why I stick to shoes, bags and jewellery :) Glad your dress fits :)
